From family schedules to vision nights, Jess, Executive Assistant at Kids Matter, plans a meaningful November.
I don’t know about you, but at the start of a new month I like to sit down with the diary and, with a cup of tea in hand, start planning and preparing for all the important things that are coming. As a mum of two little ones, this usually involves co-ordinating after school clubs, childcare arrangements, coming up with new exciting meal ideas, fun activities alongside important work commitments, birthdays and, to be honest, this can sometimes feel like a never-ending task!
But at this point I should probably mention that my role at Kids Matter is being the Executive Assistant to Eli (Kids Matter’s Co-founder and Executive Director) so diary management actually fills me with quite a lot of joy and not so much dread (unusual I know!). This feeling is especially true when November comes around because in the Kids Matter calendar it means one thing… our annual vision night is taking place.
My role at Kids Matter is great for many reasons, but one of the best parts of my job is overseeing the planning for this event. The event is fantastic because it brings together a small representative from every sphere of the Kids Matter world. From the staff team to church partners, facilitators, parents, regular givers and donors, charity partners and trustees, the whole network of Kids Matter is represented, and this alone feels poignant! Like any important celebration event in life, much planning, detail, and effort goes into delivering a significant event and I am sure that you can relate to this feeling of wanting to see a vision come to life! We use this event as an amazing opportunity to inspire and re-inspire, celebrate, reflect, and map out our approach for the upcoming year.
Whatever way you are connected to Kids Matter, please know that this month especially, we will celebrate you standing with us and our mission. Your support is hugely valued, and we look forward to sharing some highlights from our event with you soon.
