Facilitator Spotlight: Shareen

I love this programme because we’re seeing parents from all different backgrounds, all different experiences, come in and talk about their parenting and sharing their wonderful stories with each other, and you’re literally seeing light bulbs around the table.

As we learn from each other, it’s great to share the knowledge and the experience that we have in the group. Kids Matter isn’t just about the programme, it’s about combating loneliness. It’s about building community. It’s about building friendships.

Our children are making friendships as they’re meeting in the creche

Our parents are building up their network and so getting stronger as a result of it.

And we’re sharing it in our common theme of just loving our children and wanting to do better for them as parents. We’re talking about our past experiences and building our skills for making our children happy and secure, and safe.
