Community links

Community links are well connected to parents in the community and can help invite and coordinate Kids Matter groups for our trained facilitators to run.

Why we work with the community

Trust is important to overcoming the barriers (childcare, transport, stigma and fear) that can be associated with attending a parenting programme. Community links have pre-existing, trusted relationships with children, parents and carers facing disadvantages, and will know which families are at risk of being forgotten or overlooked by budget-strained support systems.

We work in partnership with schools, community centres, health visitors, GPs etc. to enable more families to have access to Kids Matter’s programmes, giving more children in need the chance to be raised in strong families and to flourish.

“I would love as many Kids Matter programmes to run as possible because parents are acquiring skills that are not only changing their lives but the lives of their children – and they’re the lives of tomorrow.
Fiona, Headteacher
