We want to see every child in need in Merseyside raised in a strong family
By working in partnership, it is possible to reduce the impact of poverty on children in need, and see them thrive.

Working together in Merseyside

We are excited to be partnering with charities and organisations in the Merseyside area, working together to deliver our parenting programmes for long-term impact.

Why are we focusing on Merseyside?

Merseyside is a vibrant, multicultural region with a rich history and a real community spirit. However, it is also one of the most deprived areas in the UK, with higher than national average levels of child poverty in some boroughs.

Materially disadvantaged families typically experience greater trauma and have less support, which can affect a child’s future outcomes. We want to meet the need where it’s greatest by interrupting the negative trajectory provoked by poverty related stress.

Having connected with local authorities, including Liverpool and Halton, as well as church-networks and like-minded organisations like Together Liverpool and Imagine If, we have a growing presence in Merseyside and are keen to develop partnerships in other regions that will enable us to come alongside and support families with our parenting programmes.

We know that when parents are equipped with the tools to build strong families, their children will thrive.

“We wanted to partner with Kids Matter because we saw a need in our area for families who were struggling to make sense of parenting on top of straining to make ends meet. Kids Matter offer wisdom and help to struggling parents in an environment that is not patronising and more collective and encouraging. We are excited to see where it leads and how it changes our community.”
